On the afternoon of 20 September, Delegates from GCHERA and NAU had a panel discussion for GCHERA World Agriculture Prize (WAP) Affairs in Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU), China. SHAO Genhong (General Manager of Department of Investment Development and Deputy General Manager of Department of East China Development of Da Bei Nong Group (DBN)) and other guests from DBN were also invited. The meeting was co-chaired by John KENNELLY (President of GCHERA) and ZHOU Guanghong (President of NAU, Vice-President of GCHERA). Simon HEATH (GCHERA Secretary General), SHAN Zheng feng (Director of President’s Office of NAU), ZHANG Hongsheng (Director of Office of International Relations and Office of University Development of NAU), LIU Zhimin (Director of China Coordinating Office for GCHERA WAP , Dean of College of International Education of NAU and Director of Institute for Higher Education of NAU), etc. participated the meeting.

The meeting agenda mainly involved affairs regarding 2016 -17 GCHERA WAP award ceremony, and the strategic planning for the operation& management of GCHERA WAP in the future with the involvement of DBN. The programme for 2016 GCHERA WAP award ceremony to be held on Oct. 18th, 2016 at Cape Town, South Africa has been confirmed. Affairs regarding the arrangements for the 2017 GCHERA WAP Award Ceremony & World Conference Biannual Event have also been reviewed.
On top of that, participants had heated discussions on suggestions for the prize set-up, selection criteria for jury members and nominations, operations of GCHERA WAP Fund and other pivotal affairs referring to the future of GCHERA WAP. They have concurred with several key views rendered for the future management of GCHERA WAP.
It has been approved that the 2017 GCHERA WAP Award Ceremony will be held at NAU, China, jointly with the Biannual World Conference Event on October 28, 2017.
